Accelerated Reader Has Come to Plew!

What is Accelerated Reader?. In a nutshell.... children read a book that the teacher has determined to be in their independent reading level. They then take a comprehension test based on the book. Points and incentives will be awarded by the classroom teachers based on their own system. It's a fun, exciting way to encourage a love of reading in children. We do need your help. We have a great number of tests that do not have a matching book in our Media Center. Many of you ask how you can help Plew. An AR book wish list is being kept in Mrs. Olmstead's office. If you'd like to honor your child's birthday or other special event, you could purchase a hardcover book from that wish list and donate it to our Media Center. A book plate will be placed in the front of the book noting the donation in honor of your child. This will help us greatly increase the number of books that we currently have tests for.
